Overview

The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) is offering six scholarships to eligible Rwandan students who wish to pursue an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Peacebuilding and Development.

Successful applicants will begin their studies at the start of the 2026/2027 academic year in mid-September 2026. The scholarship aims to support young Rwandans committed to promoting peace, social cohesion, and sustainable development.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful scholarship recipients will receive:

  • Annual registration fee waiver.
  • Full tuition fee coverage for four years.
  • Internship fee coverage.
  • Dissertation fee coverage.

The scholarship does not cover:

  • Accommodation.
  • Living expenses.
  • Transport.
  • Meals.
  • Study materials.
  • Personal expenses.

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be Rwandan citizens.
  • Be 30 years of age or younger.
  • Hold an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum 50% average (for applicants educated in Rwanda).
  • Obtain certificate equivalence from the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESSA) if educated outside Rwanda.
  • Demonstrate a proven commitment to peacebuilding and development activities.

Applicants must submit one PDF file containing:

  • Completed PUR application form.
  • Notarized copy of the national examination certificate.
  • Copies of secondary school transcripts for the final three years.
  • Copies of additional training certificates or diplomas (if applicable).
  • Copy of National ID.
  • Motivation letter written in English.
  • Two recommendation letters written in English.
