Overview

One Acre Fund is seeking a motivated Procurement Store Intern to support procurement activities, inventory management, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes in Rwanda. The internship is part of the Young Professionals Program, which provides high-performing graduates with practical work experience, mentorship, and professional development opportunities within a mission-driven agricultural organization.

The successful intern will work with procurement, inventory, and logistics teams to improve stock accuracy, support warehouse operations, and contribute to efficient supply and distribution processes that support smallholder farmers.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Support Inventory Quality Control

  • Assist in verifying quantities, quality, and specifications of goods received from suppliers.
  • Support inspection processes and report damaged, expired, or non-compliant items.
  • Maintain accurate records of received and inspected inventory.

Assist with Inventory Management and Stock Verification

  • Support physical stock counts and inventory verification activities.
  • Help reconcile differences between physical stock and system records.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data and stock documentation.

Support Store Organization and Warehouse Operations

  • Assist with organizing, labeling, and storing inventory according to procedures.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Ensure inventory is properly arranged and easily accessible.

Support Shipment Preparation and Dispatch Activities

  • Assist in preparing inventory for delivery to internal teams and field locations.
  • Support packaging, documentation, loading, and shipment coordination.
  • Track outgoing deliveries and maintain accurate shipment records.

Learn, Collaborate, and Improve Operations

  • Work with procurement, inventory, and logistics teams on daily activities.
  • Gain practical experience in stock management and supply chain processes.
  • Participate in initiatives that improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Procurement
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Logistics
    • Business Administration
    • Accounting
    • Or a related field.
  • 6–12 months of experience in inventory management, procurement, or similar roles is preferred.
  • Ability or willingness to learn inventory or warehouse management systems such as WMS.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

Eligibility

  • This opportunity is open only to citizens or permanent residents of Rwanda.
