Prime Life Insurance Limited is seeking a qualified, self-motivated, and competent Accountant to support the company’s financial management operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger management, account reconciliations, budgeting, tax compliance, and preparation of financial statements.

The Accountant will also support compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and the continuous improvement of financial controls to provide accurate information for management decision-making.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Prepare, review, and post accurate journal entries on time.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Prepare tax computations and ensure timely submission of tax returns.
• Prepare final accounts, financial reports, and management reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and proper document filing.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required information.
• Maintain and monitor the company’s fixed asset register.
• Monitor accounts payable and supplier balances.
• Ensure supplier invoices and payments are properly authorized and recorded.
• Support preparation, monitoring, and review of annual budgets.
• Analyze financial information and provide recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with:
  • Accounting standards
  • Tax regulations
  • Regulatory requirements
  • Internal company policies.
• Support improvement of accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Perform other related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in:
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Or a related field.
• Recognized professional accounting qualification such as:
  • CPA
  • ACCA
  • Equivalent qualification.
• First-class degree is preferred.
• Must be below 28 years of age.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience is an added advantage.
• Experience working in a busy organizational environment is an added advantage.
