Overview

PRO-FEMMES / TWESE HAMWE (PFTH), an umbrella organization of Rwandan civil society organizations working to promote women’s empowerment, peace, and development, is implementing the VIBE Project (Value-Added Initiative to Boost Employment) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, through TradeMark Africa (TMA) and the International Trade Centre (ITC).

This five-year initiative aims to support 20,000 young people, including 70% women and persons with disabilities, by promoting employment through value addition in agricultural and livestock products.

The project focuses on strengthening value chains related to seeds, milk, vegetables, meat, and poultry, while supporting youth entrepreneurs through training, business formalization, access to finance, market linkages, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

Selected participants will benefit from various support initiatives under the project, including:

  • Participation in entrepreneurship and business development training programs.

  • Support for formal registration of businesses and cooperatives.

  • Financial support for promising business initiatives.

  • Facilitation of connections with financial institutions for business financing.

  • Market access support and linkages with potential buyers and partners.

  • Capacity building to meet product quality standards and compliance requirements.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old.

  • Must be operating individually or within a cooperative or association.

  • Must already have an active business or project focused on value addition in agricultural or livestock products such as seeds, vegetables, milk, meat, or poultry.

  • Must have reliable access to agricultural or livestock raw materials to support value addition activities.

  • Must be able to clearly explain the nature of their project or business activities.

  • Must demonstrate willingness to collaborate with project partners and stakeholders.

Priority will be given to:

  • Women and young girls

  • Persons with disabilities

Note:
Applicants who have previously benefited from this project are not eligible to apply again.
