Responsibilities

Health & Safety Inspections

The Occupational Health and Safety Officer will:

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections
• Identify workplace hazards and non-conformities
• Monitor compliance with health and safety procedures
• Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly

Incident Investigation & Reporting

Responsibilities include:

• Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses
• Documenting findings and recommendations
• Maintaining incident records and reports

Risk Assessment & Hazard Management

The role involves:

• Performing hazard identification and risk assessments
• Monitoring risk control measures

Safety Compliance & PPE Enforcement

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Requirements

Education

Applicants should possess:

• Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:

Preferred certifications include:

• NEBOSH
• IOSH
• OSHA
• Mining-specific safety certifications

Candidates should have:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in OHS roles

Experience with mining safety systems is highly preferred.
