Job Overview

Shagasha Tea Company Ltd, one of Rwanda’s leading tea producers, is looking for a skilled and experienced Plumber to join its Engineering and Maintenance department. This is a fantastic technical job opportunity in Rwanda for a professional who understands industrial plumbing and wants to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Located in the lush highlands of Rusizi District in the Western Province, Shagasha Tea Company is dedicated to producing high-quality tea for local and international markets. As a Plumber, you will report to the Head of Maintenance/Head of Engineering at the tea factory.

This is not a standard residential plumbing role. In a tea factory, water and steam are the lifeblood of production. You will be responsible for installing and maintaining water supply systems, drainage, sanitation, andβ€”cruciallyβ€”industrial steam and condensate piping.

If you are searching for the latest jobs in Rwanda and have at least two years of practical plumbing experience in an industrial setting, this is a great opportunity. It is best suited for a hands-on problem solver who is safety-conscious, understands preventive maintenance, and can keep critical factory utilities running without interruption.

Why This Opportunity Matters

The manufacturing and agricultural processing sectors are the backbone of Rwanda's economy. Keeping a major tea factory operational requires highly skilled tradespeople.

What makes this opportunity valuable:

  • Specialized Industrial Experience: Working with steam piping, condensate-return systems, and high-pressure water systems in a factory setting is a highly specialized skill. This experience makes your CV incredibly valuable for future roles in food processing, manufacturing, or large-scale industrial plants.

  • Critical Role in Production: In tea processing, steam is used for drying and heating, while water is essential for sanitation and boiler operations. By maintaining these systems, you directly prevent costly production downtime. You are not just fixing leaks; you are keeping the factory's heart beating.

  • Stability in a Growing Sector: Shagasha Tea Company is an established producer with international markets. A career in the agricultural processing industry offers stability and long-term growth potential.

  • Focus on Preventive Maintenance: The company values proactive maintenance. You will have the opportunity to conduct routine inspections, minimize energy losses, and implement water-saving measures, which are highly valued engineering practices.

  • Safety and Compliance: You will work in a strict safety environment, gaining valuable experience with PPE, hazardous energy isolation (Lockout/Tagout), and environmental standards.

Application Tips

To stand out for this technical job in Rwanda, you need to prove that you have the specific skills they need, not just general plumbing experience.

  • Highlight your "Steam" Experience: The job description heavily emphasizes steam pipelines, valves, traps, and condensate-return systems. If you have any experience with industrial steamβ€”even if it was just assisting a senior technicianβ€”you must highlight this in your CV and cover letter. It is the most unique requirement for this role.

  • Showcase Industrial Experience: The company specifically asks for experience in a tea factory, food processing plant, manufacturing facility, or similar industry. Make sure your CV clearly states where you did your plumbing work and what kind of equipment you handled.

  • Emphasize Safety: Mention your familiarity with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), safe isolation procedures, and working around high-pressure systems.

  • Tailor your cover letter: Address your signed application letter to the Managing Director, Shagasha Tea Company Ltd. Explain how your skills in maintaining factory utilities will help Shagasha maintain its high-quality production.

  • Combine everything into ONE PDF: The instructions are strict: "submit their applications in one PDF document". Do not send multiple files. Combine your signed application letter, CV, academic certificates, and supporting documents into a single, well-formatted PDF.

  • Include three referees: Your CV must have at least three professional referees. Make sure they are people who can vouch for your hands-on technical skills.

  • Apply before the deadline: The deadline is October 31, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Ensure your email is sent on time.
