Gabiro Agribusiness Hub (GAH) Ltd is a flagship agribusiness enterprise established through a strategic joint venture between the Government of Rwanda (MINAGRI) and NETAFIM Ltd, a global leader in precision irrigation solutions. Located in Nyagatare District, GAH Ltd is at the forefront of transforming Rwanda’s agricultural sector through large-scale irrigated farming, modern infrastructure, and climate-smart agriculture.To support its expanding farming operations, GAH Ltd is seeking six (6) dynamic and results-oriented Pumping Station Operators. Working within the Infrastructure Management and Maintenance Services department, these operators will be the backbone of the Hub’s irrigation network. Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Operate, monitor, and adjust pumping equipment, valves, and control panels according to daily irrigation schedules.
  • Data Recording: Accurately log operating parameters such as flow rate, pressure, voltage, current, and running hours.
  • Routine Inspections: Conduct daily checks on oil levels, cooling systems, bearings, and seals to detect abnormalities or wear.
  • Fault Reporting: Promptly identify and report leaks, unusual noises, overheating, or power fluctuations to the maintenance team.
  • Maintenance & Safety: Assist technicians with preventive and corrective maintenance while maintaining strict cleanliness and adherence to safety SOPs in all pump rooms.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Education: Technical Diploma (A2) or Advanced Diploma (A1) in Electricity, Electromechanics, or Plumbing.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience (for A2 holders) OR 3 years of experience (for A1 holders) operating water pumps, irrigation systems, or industrial utilities.
  • Mandatory Certification: Valid Category A driving license.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to interpret gauges, meters, and basic engineering drawings. Knowledge of VFD operation and electrical controls is a strong advantage.
  • Physical Fitness: Physically fit and willing to work rotational shifts (day/night), weekends, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
